There are very few things that can compete with the luxurious aesthetic of a kitchen that is equipped with granite worktops that blend seamlessly with the rest of the furnishings. Here at Change of Style Granite & Stone Ltd, we can provide the most impressive results and give you the granite worktops you have been dreaming of at very competitive prices.
Granite is a wonderful material to work with and our team takes great pleasure in forming and refining blocks of raw material into the wonderfully crafted finished products we present. Thanks to improvements in technology, creating granite worktops can be completely more swiftly, which is one the reasons we can transition from templating to installation and fitment in just one week.
Generally, granite is cut to incredibly accurate degrees using water jet technology and diamond wire and diamond blade saws, which are used to hew the raw shape from the initial slab of granite material. After this, our granite worktop specialists really come into their own by refining and honing the shape into the polished and attractive final product that you receive.
During the years that we have been in operation, our team has gained invaluable experience and skills in the processes of finishing and smoothing. These final touches and intricate details we add to the machined stone cannot be replicated by any existing machine. This is why having skilled craftspeople, such as our granite worktop specialists, completing the work is essential.
Our worktops are highly scratch resistant and will withstand years of usage without suffering any negative effects to their appearance. This is because of something called the Mohs hardness scale. Typically a steel knife blade will be between 5 – 6.5 on the scale, whereas granite sits at between 6.5 – 7. This means that it would actually be difficult to mark the granite surface, because it’s harder than the knife itself. However, to ensure the longevity of your surfaces, we always recommend using a chopping board.

As granite is a natural product, there are many variations and no two worktops are ever the same. Inflections and mineral deposits within the stone itself makes each one unique and incredibly attractive.
Even though they are all different, depending on where the granite is quarried and extracted from, it will have certain characteristics, such as hue or colour. Here are some examples of the granite types we can supply:
• Angolan Black Granite
• Baltic Brown Granite
• Bianco Sardo Granite
• Black Galaxy Granite
• Blue Pearl Granite
• Emerald Pearl Granite
• Impala Granite
• New Venetian Gold Granite
• Zimbabwe Granite
• Tan Brown Granite
• River Valley White Granite
• Steel Grey Granite
Our selection offers a vast array of granite worktops, and what you see is only the beginning! There are countless unique permutations because of the fascinating way granite is formed. Granite is a durable igneous rock, meaning it is created deep within the Earth by the slow cooling of magma. This gradual cooling process allows a distinct crystalline structure to form. Granite is actually a composite material, composed primarily of quartz and feldspar, with minor elements like mica, amphiboles, and other minerals mixed in.
The extraordinary variety of colours, specks, and veining you see in every slab is created by the granite’s specific mineral composition. Since this composition is entirely dependent on the geological location where the rock was quarried from, every quarry yields distinct and beautiful patterns, ensuring your granite worktop is truly one-of-a-kind.
