There are many material options available when it comes to worktops, such as marble and granite. So why choose quartz kitchen countertops? Well, there are many key benefits to quartz countertops, one of which is the material’s durability.
Quartz kitchen countertops are highly scratch resistant and can withstand years of usage, including in hot kitchens, without negative effects. This is due to something called the Mohs Hardness Scale. A steel knife on this scale sits at around 5 – 6.5, whereas quartz sits at around 7. This means that your quartz worktops are harder than a steel knife, making them incredibly difficult to mark or damage.
Additional benefits include the customisation options and their low maintenance properties.
